About this role

Gotion Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the build-out of our new brownfield EV battery manufacturing plant in Kankakee County, Illinois. This role is central to our mission of accelerating electrified transportation and achieving sustainable development through next-generation lithium battery technology.

In this role, you will manage the construction project from start to finish, developing and implementing a construction plan that ensures on-time, on-budget delivery to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate with all stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies, and oversee site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and the installation of manufacturing machinery.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent in Mandarin/Chinese, ideally Native.
10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years of experience on large, complex projects.
Experience working with brownfield or greenfield sites is a plus.
Knowledge of Automotive Regulations, EV Batteries or Energy or Complex Site Construction is a plus.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement project plans, track progress, and manage budgets.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Manage the construction of our new brownfield EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish in Kankakee County, Illinois.
Develop and implement a construction plan that ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Coordinate with all stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
Oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of equipment, including the shipment and installation of manufacturing machinery.
Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are met.
Manage the project budget and track expenses.
Communicate regularly with the Chief Engineer and other senior management on the progress of the project.
