About this role

Keeley Construction is seeking a Traveling Project Manager to join its Civil Infrastructure Group based in St. Louis, MO. This role demands willingness to travel to jobsite locations as project demands require, leading civil construction projects.

The Project Manager develops comprehensive project plans prior to kickoff, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget. Daily tasks include managing project schedules, coordinating with suppliers and field supervision, and facilitating change orders and closeout documentation with clients.

Project managers work closely with estimators, subcontractors, municipal inspectors, and owner representatives. They coordinate resources with other project managers, general superintendents, and project engineers to ensure seamless operations. Effective communication and collaboration are key to avoiding delays and maintaining project quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of five years of experience performing primary responsibilities.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Technical skills and understanding of excavation, utilities, wastewater, and earthwork methods.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead project teams to deliver successful outcomes with a focus on quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans prior to project kickoff to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Build, manage, and strategize project schedules, recognizing and rectifying potential impacts.
  • Work with suppliers and field supervision to coordinate material needs and ensure materials meet specifications.
  • Manage risk related to job-site safety, owner contractual terms, and city/county specifications.
  • Facilitate change orders and closeout documentation with clients.
  • Communicate and coordinate with local municipal inspectors, consulting firms, engineering firms, and owner representatives.
  • Manage and grow a team by taking responsibility and genuine interest in their development.
