About this role
AE Smith, a 120-year-old Australian leader in HVAC and building services, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Mechanical team. This role oversees HVAC projects within the building and construction industry, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
You will manage the day-to-day operations of multiple HVAC projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery. Your responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, managing budgets and timelines, and identifying risks. Compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards is a key priority.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Project Manager in the HVAC industry
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex HVAC projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, technologies, and industry best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Proficient in the use of project management software and tools, with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Membership or accreditation with a professional industry body (e.g., AIRAH, HVAC&R Society)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior team members
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple HVAC projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, managing budgets, resources, and timelines to meet project objectives
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and challenges that may impact project delivery, implementing effective strategies to address them
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations
- Lead and mentor junior project managers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project management processes and procedures
