About this role
The Construction Manager supports Engineering and Engineering Technician services for facilities sustainment, restoration, and modernization (FSRM) projects at Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene, TX. This role performs all related administrative services required to execute unscheduled work, sustainment work, corrective maintenance, and enhancement work.
Day-to-day activities include inspecting and surveilling difficult and complex construction projects, ensuring contractor compliance with approved plans and specifications. The position also involves coordinating with contractor representatives on work scheduling, plan interpretation, and acceptability of materials and workmanship.
This on-site role is part of Bodwé Group, the Professional Services Group of Mno-Bmadsen, an instrumentality of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi. The team is committed to growing the economy and legacy of the Pokagon Band while delivering holistic, end-to-end solutions across the built environment lifecycle.
This contract position will be available upon successful contract award, with an expected start date of September 2026. It offers the opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure projects for the U.S. Air Force while supporting a unique tribal enterprise.
Requirements
- Experience performing inspection and surveillance of difficult and complex construction projects.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications to ensure contractor compliance.
- Skill in coordinating with contractor representatives on work scheduling and methods.
- Problem-solving capability to independently make correct determinations on unique and unusual construction issues.
- Knowledge of construction materials, installation, and testing of complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control procedures for construction projects.
- Ability to work on-site at a military installation (Dyess Air Force Base).
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection and surveillance of difficult and complex construction projects.
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved plans and specifications for various construction contracts.
- Inspect major segments of complex projects, including materials, installation, and testing of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic structures and systems.
- Coordinate with contractor representatives concerning work scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, selection of work methods, and acceptability of materials and workmanship.
- Resolve problems or conflicts with contractors involving interpretation of plans and specifications requirements.
- Direct the discontinuance of portions of the work project when necessary to maintain compliance.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspections and related administrative correspondence.
