About this role

Overwatch is a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business offering construction professional services for the mission-critical infrastructure industry. This role focuses on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of data center projects for colocation providers.

You will lead and manage construction to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing detailed project schedules, conducting regular site walks, and coordinating with DCIB teams executing tenant fit out data hall white space projects.

You will serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication. The team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who work collaboratively to ensure successful execution of complex data center construction projects.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of base building data center construction — civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing
  • Project management experience for startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Experience coordinating with design teams to ensure construction activities align with approved design plans and specifications
  • Ability to ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards
  • Experience providing ongoing colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the construction of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Develop a deep understanding of the project to evaluate risk profiles associated with timely delivery and address gaps in risk identification and mitigation
  • Develop mitigation strategies for major project risks to ensure project success
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones
  • Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with DCIB teams
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards
  • Conduct regular site walks to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality throughout the life of the project
