About this role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor responsible for estimating and controlling costs, ensuring structures meet legal and quality standards. You will be involved at every stage of a project.

Duties include preparation of internal commercial reporting, valuations for payment, and cost reports to the client with supporting documentation. You will also manage subcontract procurement schedules and administer subcontractor accounts from requisition through final accounts.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change. This role offers a chance to work on major infrastructure projects across multiple locations, part of a team that values honesty, quality, and community impact.

Requirements

  • Experience with NEC Option 1 contracts.
  • Experience with change management, programmes, measurement, CVRs, forecasts, and cashflows.
  • Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement.
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Presentation and negotiation skills with ability to persuade others.
  • At least 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare internal commercial reporting and any other reports as required.
  • Prepare valuations and applications for payment with supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
  • Prepare cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
  • Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Administer subcontractor and supplier accounts from preparation of detailed requisitions through to agreement of final accounts.
  • Undertake contract administration including change management and maintain associated registers.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change.
  • Utilise the costing system.
