As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for budgets while procuring subcontractors and issuing their order documentation. You will assess and certify interim payments, issue required notices and produce monthly cost value reconciliations on high-value projects.

The role requires effective interaction between commercial and operational site teams together with the identification and management of contractual risks. You will plan and evaluate work across the commercial team while supervising and mentoring Quantity Surveyors.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified candidate
  • Extensive experience in construction
  • Good knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Sound commercial awareness
  • Ability to complete take-offs and price variations unaided
  • High levels of organisational skills and time management
  • Excellent numerical, IT and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on initiative with minimum supervision and travel to site as required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for budgets
  • Ensure subcontractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems
  • Procure subcontractors and prepare subcontractor order documentation
  • Assess and certify subcontractor interim payments and issue required payer or pay-less notices
  • Advise on legal and contractual issues and identify and manage commercial risks
  • Produce and present monthly cost value reconciliations on projects
  • Assist in managing the commercial team and supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors
  • Ensure effective interaction between commercial and operational site teams
