A Technical Program Manager at Google leads complex multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. The role uses technical expertise to develop cost estimates and baseline models for data center infrastructure using design documents and site test-fits.
Daily work includes evaluating external developer pricing at the trade package level and reconciling budget differences to support contract negotiations. The position partners with internal teams to build defensible budgets while capturing site-specific costs for project funding approvals.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, a related technical/financial field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- 5 years of experience in data center program management, construction estimation, or design for cost.
- 3 years of experience working with financial controls, data center infrastructure, or technical projects.
- 2 years of experience managing estimation workflows, analyzing trade package pricing, or utilizing cost management systems.
- Knowledge of general construction market conditions, industry trends, and cost benchmarks.
- Ability to set strategy, collaborate, and influence across multiple levels of an organization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and baseline models using design documents and site test-fits.
- Evaluate external developer pricing down to trade package levels and reconcile budget differences.
- Partner with internal teams to build defensible budgets and capture site-specific costs for funding approvals.
- Establish standardized estimating workflows, templates, and baseline tracking tied to design milestones.
- Integrate cost management systems and collaborate cross-functionally as an estimating expert.
- Lead complex multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish while managing schedules and identifying risks.
- Communicate analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers.
