Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, the nation's largest company specializing in underground utility detection, seeks a GPR Project Manager for the Birmingham market. This role involves more than technical scanning—it's about being a leader who serves clients from start to finish.

On any given day, you will perform private utility locating and concrete scanning to reduce project delays and prevent serious injuries on construction sites. You will operate state-of-the-art GPR equipment and interpret data to provide clients with accurate subsurface information.

You will join an extensive nationwide network of highly trained Project Managers, supported by best-in-class training at our state-of-the-art facility. While you work independently in the field, you'll be part of a team that values integrity, teamwork, and mutual respect.

Requirements

  • Drive and ability to learn how to use GPR and other equipment to complete locating projects
  • Possess skills in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check, drug screen (including ongoing random testing), and have a valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Must be physically capable of carrying up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to work and walk on concrete and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Comfortable working on small to large construction sites
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed
  • Must live within or be willing to move within 30–50 miles of Birmingham, AL

Responsibilities

  • Perform private utility locating and concrete scanning to mitigate the risk of delayed projects and serious injury on site
  • Serve customers from beginning to end as a dedicated Project Manager, ensuring accurate data delivery
  • Use GPR and other equipment to complete locating projects, with training provided
  • Manage your time effectively while working independently in the field on varied job sites
  • Bring excellence in customer service each day to increase the customer base and demonstrate commitment to quality and safety
  • Maintain continuous curiosity about the latest industry trends and technology
  • Interpret subsurface data and provide reliable reports to clients
