About this role

The Process Systems Construction Manager leads the Mechanical Team and oversees onsite mechanical quality control for large hi-tech projects. This role reports to the Mechanical Project Manager within the Construction Management department.

Day-to-day, the manager interfaces between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to coordinate mechanical and electrical system startups. They also run startup meetings involving design team members, local utility agencies, and owners, driving MEP system startup activities.

Working closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople, this position addresses complex mechanical coordination issues. The manager verifies equipment readiness, coordinates MEP systems with civil and architectural elements, and facilitates client training on MEP operations and maintenance.

This position offers the opportunity to lead mechanical quality control and secure subcontractors while managing budgets and contract modifications. The role is fully based at the project site in Sunnyvale, CA.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of process construction experience required.
  • Specific experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams), with a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, and survey theory and techniques.
  • Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method, familiar with the CSI specification system for construction.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of low-voltage electrical construction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee mechanical process subcontractor and vendor installation work daily to ensure they maintain their installation schedule and support system startup and commissioning activities.
  • Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating mechanical and electrical system startups.
  • Verify all documentation is complete and ensure equipment being prepared for startup is construction complete and can safely be started.
  • Coordinate MEP systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
  • Organize and facilitate training of clients' personnel in the operations and maintenance of MEP systems.
  • Run startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, design team members, multiple subcontractors, local utility agencies, and owners to coordinate and drive MEP system startup activities.
  • Review and process project submittal information and coordinate between multiple submittals to ensure accuracy and functionality of each component of the various MEP systems.
  • Secure mechanical subcontractors and equipment buyout, and manage mechanical subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.

  • Salary range: $110,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience, plus incentives.
