About this role

Marshalls Bricks and Masonry, a major supplier of 120 million bricks a year and part of the FTSE 250 Marshalls Group, is seeking a Commercial Manager to join the House Builder Team. This field-based role covers Wales and the South West, driving growth and profitability across key customer relationships.

In this results-driven, commercially focused sales position, you will identify sales opportunities, nurture relationships, and develop your own effective Business Plan to achieve sales budgets. You will attend regular regional meetings and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts to support planning.

Reporting directly to the Trading Director, you will manage and expand partnerships with key Housebuilder customers and stakeholders. You will also represent the business at customer events and reviews, strengthening long-term partnerships and ensuring our presence is both valued and influential.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to play a key role in carrying forward the excellent growth momentum of the previous five years. You will help shape the wider sales strategy, defining initiatives that deliver sustainable growth and secure the company's future success.

Requirements

  • Strong experience within the Housebuilder and construction sector, with an existing network of industry contacts
  • Experience in the Bricks and Masonry market (or wider construction industry) highly desirable
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving profitability
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in negotiating and contract management, with the ability to secure favourable trading agreements
  • Commercially astute with strong financial and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence and persuasiveness for internal and external stakeholders
  • Full driving licence required

Responsibilities

  • Identify sales opportunities and nurture relationships with key Housebuilder customers
  • Develop and execute an effective Business Plan to achieve sales budgets
  • Improve the efficiency of sales processes and monitor, report, and achieve KPIs
  • Support the pricing structure and develop trading agreements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts to support planning
  • Attend regular meetings across the Wales and South West region
  • Represent the business at customer events and reviews to strengthen partnerships
  • Shape the wider sales strategy and define initiatives for sustainable growth
