About this role
Cardo Group is a trusted provider of building maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofit services for social housing across the UK. We are seeking a Site Manager to ensure the effective day-to-day management, safety, and maintenance of a sheltered housing scheme, providing a secure and supportive environment for residents.
In this role, you will conduct regular inspections of buildings, communal areas, and grounds, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety. You will report repairs, carry out basic maintenance tasks, and monitor fire safety systems, security, and emergency procedures.
You will act as a visible and approachable presence for residents, promoting independent living and wellbeing. Liaising with contractors and service providers, you will coordinate repairs, monitor cleaning and grounds maintenance, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements
- Experience in housing, facilities management, caretaking, or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including fire safety.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and coordinate evacuation plans.
- Experience conducting routine health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Competence in using computer systems to record repairs, inspections, and communications.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures for vulnerable adults.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, communal areas, grounds, and equipment.
- Ensure the scheme is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
- Report repairs and maintenance issues and monitor completion by contractors.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.
- Ensure fire safety systems and emergency equipment are regularly checked and coordinate emergency procedures.
- Act as a visible and approachable presence for residents, promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records relating to fire safety, accidents, inspections, and tenancy administration.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed satisfactorily.
