Georgetown University seeks a Project Manager to support its mission by delivering high-quality campus design and construction capital projects. This role manages planning, execution, and close-out of assigned projects, serving as a key liaison between internal partners, external consultants, and contractors.
The Project Manager leads projects from design concept through construction documents, bidding, and construction administration to final turnover. They provide direction and coordination for project teams composed of clients, architects, engineers, and operations personnel, while obtaining necessary approvals from internal entities and government agencies.
Reporting to the Planning and Capital Projects department, the incumbent manages multiple projects concurrently with budgets typically ranging from $5,000 to $5 million. They conduct regular on-site inspections to evaluate contractor performance and ensure work aligns with the university living wage policy for construction.
This role may also involve designing small projects, supporting master planning efforts, and developing reports using design and planning software. Special assignments require technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to address unusually difficult problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or Project Management (preferred)
- Computer literate with specific knowledge of CADD and MS Project
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with budgets ranging from $5,000 to $5 million
- Experience coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and operations personnel
- Knowledge of building codes and university standards for design and construction
- Ability to hold consultant and contractor team members accountable for performance per contract scope and schedule
Responsibilities
