About this role
Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager I or II to provide overall leadership direction on one large project or multiple projects. This role involves managing project quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the project team to deliver excellent service.
Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the overall financial health of projects, developing and maintaining project financial and equipment projections, and allocating project estimates into the financial system. You will handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage the budget, and create monthly owner billings.
As the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative, you will resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary customer and architect approvals. You will also lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, providing job assignments, training, and career development.
This position offers opportunities at both levels I and II, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation is determined based on factors such as experience and location, with a competitive base pay range and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Current driver’s license
- Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
- Ability to travel up to 100%
- Minimum 8 years of construction management or related experience for Senior Project Manager I
- Minimum 10 years of construction management or related experience for Senior Project Manager II
Responsibilities
- Supervise overall financial health of projects while developing and maintaining project financial and equipment projections
- Allocate project estimates into the financial system, determine cost codes, and approve invoices
- Provide financials and billings to Accounting and create monthly owner billings
- Handle subcontracts and suppliers, manage budget and selections
- Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, provide job assignments and training, manage career development
- Function as main point of contact with owner and on-site representative, resolve site concerns, handle change orders, and obtain necessary customer/architect approvals
- Maintain schedule and budget, manage quality, risk, safety, and compliance
- Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and manage budget decisions
