Wood is currently sourcing for a Carpenter Journeyperson for a project near Freeport, TX. This role involves building wooden structures such as stairs, concrete forms, scaffolds, and temporary shelters according to blueprints or oral instructions.
The journeyman examines blueprints and sketches to determine material requirements and dimensions. They measure and mark cutting lines, shape materials with saws and planes, and verify accuracy with transit and level. Daily tasks include nailing braces, constructing concrete-supporting forms, and erecting scaffolding.

Responsibilities
- Build wooden structures such as stairs, concrete forms, scaffolds, and temporary shelters according to blueprints or oral instructions.
- Examine blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and dimensions.
- Prepare layout of form or fixture using lines or grades.
- Shape materials to required sizes using saws, chisels, and planes.
- Verify accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square, and level.
- Erect scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Construct forms, chutes, and align form panels for pouring concrete and grout.
- Fit and install pre-fabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finished hardware.
