This Construction Project Manager role supports the full life cycle of critical facility construction projects, from engineering management through commissioning. The role requires leadership to contractors and vendors while delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
Day-to-day activities involve maintaining liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage project delivery. The Construction Project Manager handles back-office work including change orders, budgets, and Procore while managing multi-phased projects on schedule and within budget. Travel of 25-40% is required across multiple regions. This includes ensuring quality meets company design standards.
The Construction Project Manager serves as a cross-functional champion, liaising with all company departments. They coordinate with the Commissioning Manager to ensure projects start up and commission per company capacity-online requirements and standards. They develop and manage RFPs in coordination with the Procurement Team. Effective communication reduces constraints between Owner, Design Team, and Contractors.
The role involves delivering both greenfield new builds and major phased expansion projects. The focus on evolving designs and changes brought by AI and future developments ensures continuous learning and adaptation. Preference is for experience in these areas, but the position offers exposure to diverse project types.
Requirements
- Background in Critical Facilities Design, Architecture, Engineering and Construction Services.
- Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or Owner’s Representative.
- Proficiency with project management software such as Procore.
- Strong organizational skills and experience with back-office work including change orders and budgets.
- Knowledge of commissioning processes for critical facility systems.
- Ability to travel 25-40% across multiple regions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain liaison with contractors and vendors to manage day-to-day activities impacting critical facilities construction projects.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple markets, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Develop and manage RFPs in coordination with the Procurement Team.
- Deliver Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineering.
- Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager to ensure projects are started up and commissioned per company capacity-online requirements.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts including progress billing, equipment, and income/expenses.
- Act as key liaison with all company departments, serving as a cross-functional champion.
