About this role

Acts Construction is seeking qualified candidates for our Carpenter / Journeyman position to join our growing team. In this role, you will handle all basic functions of construction, from demolition to finish trim installation.

Day-to-day responsibilities include operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment. You will work on cabinetry, metal and wood framing, drywall, window and door installation, siding, and many other aspects of construction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship in carpentry is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in construction or maintenance related field
  • Understanding of blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety requirements (OSHA)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools used in construction

Responsibilities

  • Perform all basic functions of construction including demolition, cabinetry, metal and wood framing, and drywall
  • Complete finish trim installation, window and door installation, and siding installation
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
  • Adhere to building codes and OSHA safety requirements on all job sites
  • Maintain a valid driver's license for travel between community locations as needed
  • Assist with other aspects of construction as assigned by the project lead
