About this role

We are seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead all on-site activities for Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business across the United Kingdom. This remote role assures cost-effective execution of project deliverables from start-up through commissioning and maintenance phases. You will coordinate resources, equipment, and milestones with the Senior Management Team and Project Manager.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning project on-site activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring correct handling and installation of equipment. You will serve as the project representative on site, building effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders while maintaining up-to-date risk assessments and method statements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience as a Site Manager in the construction and/or installation business.
Good understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
Proven leadership skills in managing on-site teams and subcontractors.
Experience in planning and coordinating on-site activities with senior management.
Proficiency in controlling project costs and monitoring spending against forecasts.
Knowledge of risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) development and compliance.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and reporting on site activities, HSE, quality, and progress.

Responsibilities

Plan project on-site activities together with the Senior Management Team and Project Manager, including necessary resources, equipment, and milestones.
Assume full responsibility for the site from receiving the assigned area from the customer until handing it back upon completion.
Serve as the project representative on site, building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and local stakeholders.
Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of equipment and material to avoid damage, promptly reporting goods received to project logistics.
Ensure detailed and up-to-date risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place for each work package, compliant with the project health and safety plan.
Control project cost for site work, monitoring actual spending against forecasts and estimating final cost.
Manage subcontractors on site to ensure necessary quality and progress are achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.
Report regularly to the Project Manager on site activities, HSE, quality, progress, and cost.
