About this role
This role manages all quantity surveying and commercial activities for MEP works, from take-off to final accounts. Responsibilities include quantity take-off, cost estimation, variation management, subcontractor valuation, and cost control. The position ensures commercial success and contractual compliance of the project.
Daily responsibilities involve preparing quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents for MEP works. You will verify quantities executed at site, maintain accurate measurement records, and monitor project costs against budgets. Additionally, you will identify cost-saving opportunities and prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial progress reports.
You will coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Site Teams regarding project quantities and commercial matters. Attend project meetings related to commercial and contractual issues. Prepare monthly commercial reports and management summaries to support project teams in commercial decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to manage the full commercial lifecycle of MEP projects, from initial take-off to final account closeout. You will handle variations, claims, and subcontractor negotiations, gaining exposure to contract administration and client interactions. This position is key to ensuring project profitability and contractual compliance.
Requirements
- Experience in quantity surveying and commercial management for MEP works (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting).
- Strong knowledge of contract documents, BOQs, specifications, and conditions of contract.
- Ability to prepare accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and tender documents.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, cost control, and preparation of cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Experience in managing variations, claims, and change order proposals.
- Skill in subcontractor evaluation, agreement preparation, and payment certification.
- Familiarity with interim and final account preparation and project closeout procedures.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple project teams and attend commercial meetings.
Responsibilities

- Evaluate subcontractor quotations, prepare subcontract agreements, and certify interim payment applications.
- Prepare monthly interim payment applications and follow up on payment certifications and collections.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Site Teams regarding project quantities and commercial matters.
- Prepare final account submissions and project closeout documentation.
