About this role

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor at Schindler, you will lead the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality elevator and escalator solutions. You will oversee all aspects of cost control, contract administration, and commercial risk management to support financial and operational objectives.

Day-to-day, you will allocate workloads, set clear objectives, and monitor team performance to meet project and business goals. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders on commercial and contractual matters, while ensuring compliance with UK legislation and company policies.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture. You will also support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, and identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and project delivery.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
Chartered status with RICS or equivalent professional body is highly desirable
Significant experience in a senior quantity surveying role, preferably within the construction or building services sector
Proven track record of managing commercial aspects of complex, high-value projects
Strong knowledge of contract law, standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT), and commercial procedures
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Proficient in the use of relevant software and IT systems
Preferably a minimum of 10 years’ experience operating at a senior level within the construction industry

Responsibilities
