About this role
Ramboll, a global foundation-owned architecture and consultancy company, seeks a Construction Manager for its Syracuse, NY project. This role is part of the Project Management Group based in Albany, supporting sustainable change for nature and people.
Daily responsibilities include assisting in development of plans and schedules, working with superintendents and administrators. You manage project scope, schedule, and budget alongside the Senior Construction Manager. Leadership of on-site teams and management of subcontractor contracts are key duties.
You actively participate in creating a safety culture in the office and at jobsites, serving as Project Site Safety Leader when needed. Requirements
- Associate degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or 5+ years of professional construction management experience.
- Ability to read plans, drawings, specifications, and interpret data.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, safety planning, and means and methods.
- Willingness to travel locally up to 10%.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
- OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of plans, schedules, and work alongside superintendents, supervisors, and administrators on project activities.
- Actively manage overall project construction scope, schedule, and budget with the Senior Construction Manager.
- Lead on-site project teams for smaller scale projects.
- Manage subcontractor contracts in coordination with the Senior Construction Manager.
- Support the change order process by gathering and organizing data for Project Manager review.
- Estimate costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for project changes.
- Participate in creating a safety culture and serve as Project Site Safety Leader when needed.
