About this role

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, playing a key role in helping us achieve ambitious growth targets. You will support one of our key Construction clients in the region, developing and implementing procurement and commercial strategies across a range of projects.

In this role you will provide pre and post contract quantity surveying and commercial support on one-off projects and programmes of work. You will work predominantly on compensatory planting and biodiversity net gain projects, managing financial reporting, contract negotiation, and procurement events.

You will collaborate with the Compensatory Planting Project Manager to negotiate land agreements and coordinate with capital projects contracts managers to ensure delivery within budget. The role involves robust post contract commercial management to support project goals and objectives.

Requirements

Working knowledge of the relevant conditions of contract, primarily NEC3 suite.
Experience in estimating, cost and budget management, contract administration, and payment and expenditure management.
Strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills.
Demonstrable experience delivering large projects/programmes of work.
Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritising requirements where necessary.
Experience in procurement management including initial enquiry, contract negotiation, and post contract management.

Responsibilities

Provide pre and post contract quantity surveying and commercial support on a range of one-off projects and programmes of work.
Focus predominantly on compensatory planting and biodiversity net gain projects.
Manage detailed financial management and reporting.
Work alongside the Compensatory Planting Project Manager to negotiate and manage terms of compensatory planting and biodiversity net gain contracts.
Manage procurement events/ITTs including initial enquiry, contract negotiation/agreement, post contract management and final account agreement.
Assist negotiation and management of financial terms of land agreements.
Liaise with all capital projects contracts managers to ensure compensatory planting and biodiversity net gain contracts are delivered within project budgeting and cost recovery via Ofgem allowances.
Support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.
