About this role
Seqwater delivers water infrastructure across South East Queensland, from the New South Wales border to Gympie. The organisation is expanding its asset base while adopting new technologies and sustainable practices to meet regional demand.
In this fixed-term role until June 2028, you will lead planning and delivery of upgrades, refurbishments, and new builds at treatment plants, pipelines, and distribution systems. Projects must meet operational needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives while maintaining safety and continuity.
You will coordinate internal teams, contractors, and consultants using established project management frameworks. Daily work includes tracking milestones, managing contractor performance, and reporting progress against scope, schedule, and budget.
The position offers the chance to work on high-profile water infrastructure projects that support the vision of Water for Life. Your contribution will help future-proof critical assets for South East Queensland communities.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in project management of complex capital construction and maintenance projects
- Proficiency with project management frameworks such as PMBOK and associated governance and reporting practices
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of water infrastructure upgrade, refurbishment, and construction projects using established project management frameworks such as PMBOK
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects aligned with operational needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives
- Manage contractor performance and project delivery using project management systems and tools to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to scope
- Monitor, track, and report on project progress, ensuring milestones, technical standards, quality expectations, and compliance obligations are consistently met
- Develop and contribute to detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resourcing to support infrastructure that meets current and future demand
- Identify, communicate, and manage risks and complex technical challenges impacting safety, asset performance, operational continuity, and environmental compliance
