Joseph Gallagher Limited is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and control for civil engineering projects, ensuring all structures meet legal and quality standards. This role is integral to the project lifecycle, from initial budgeting through final account agreement.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing valuations and applications for payment, managing subcontractor and supplier accounts, and administering contracts with a focus on change management. You will also prepare detailed cost reports for clients and internal commercial reporting, always with compliant supporting documentation.

Requirements
- Experience in construction desirable
- Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others
- At least 5 years of quantity surveying experience and ideally a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
Responsibilities
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
- Preparation of valuations and applications for payment with supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
- Preparation of cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Administration of subcontractor and supplier accounts from detailed requisitions through to final account agreement
- Undertake contract administration including change management and maintain associated registers
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change
- Utilize the costing system
