About this role
Granite Construction is building more than infrastructure—we are building your future. As a Carpenter, you will construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using handtools and power tools, all while conforming to local building codes.
Your day-to-day work involves studying blueprints and building plans to select the right materials, preparing layouts with framing squares and calipers, and shaping materials to precise measurements using saws, chisels, and planes. You will assemble and fasten materials, verify trueness with plumb bobs and levels, and erect frameworks, stairs, and partitions.
You will also install prefabricated window frames, doors, trim, and finish hardware, as well as construct forms for pouring concrete and erect scaffolding for above-ground work. This role participates in on-the-job training, helping you grow your skills while contributing to meaningful construction projects.
