About this role

The Construction Manager will maintain a primary focus on practice related services, managing the delivery of all on site construction management services for the client. This role also has a secondary focus on internal business operations, including active engagement with business development, financial management, and staff development matters.

Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing project management functions through all phases of a project, from preconstruction through closeout. The Construction Manager will serve as the liaison with clients, assisting with all project-related decisions, and will maintain and produce cost and status reports that meet the client's objectives.

Requirements

Significant independent responsibility for assignments including entire on-site projects, multiple construction projects, or a portion of a project.
Ability to manage the delivery of all on site construction management related services for the client.
Experience with budget development, cost control, and schedule management.
Proficiency in contract administration and construction bidding and planning.
Knowledge of risk management, quality assurance, and safety protocols on construction sites.
Strong client liaison and decision-support skills.
Ability to produce detailed cost and status reports.
Experience managing a construction/project management team.

Responsibilities

Manage the client and construction/project management team to deliver projects that meet the client's project goals and outcomes.
Serve as liaison with clients and assist with all project-related decisions.
Plan, organize, and direct project management functions through all phases of a project, from preconstruction to closeout.
Oversee preconstruction activities including building the A&E team, design management, schedule management, constructability review, budget development, cost control, contract administration, construction bidding, and permitting strategy.
Manage the contractor during construction, including buyout, procurement, risk management, quality assurance, safety, and overall project execution while maintaining budget and schedule control.
Manage the closeout process to ensure the project meets specifications.
Maintain and produce cost and status reports that meet the client's objectives.
Identify opportunities within a project that will add value and help successfully accomplish the client's desired project outcome.
