About this role

KBR's rapidly growing nuclear team is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Project Controls and Commercial Services (PCCS) team at Sellafield Ltd. This role is integral to delivering commercial and project controls services across a portfolio of enterprise projects and the original PPP programme.

Day-to-day responsibilities include basic subcontract management, delivery of commercial actions, and management of commercial documentation. You will also handle interim payments, support strategic and operational functions, and ensure the delivery of project deliverables.

Reporting to senior members of the commercial team, you will provide commercial assistance for the day-to-day contract administration of PCCS. The role involves close collaboration with over 150 commercial and project controls professionals across the Sellafield network of projects.

This position offers a clear pathway to develop into the quantity surveying profession, with the opportunity to eventually be deployed on a Sellafield Ltd project. Requirements

  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Office.
  • Good time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Capable of obtaining (or currently holds) UK Nuclear industry clearance.
  • Experience in the self-delivery of basic commercial duties.
  • Awareness of administrating construction contracts.
  • High level of integrity and awareness of the management of sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management team in delivering a resource-based capability to help the Client achieve strategic targets.
  • Perform basic subcontract management and delivery of commercial actions.
  • Manage commercial documentation and support commercial administration and reporting.
  • Handle interim payments and ensure delivery of project deliverables.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational functions within the PCCS framework.
