About this role

Giffels Webster is seeking a Project Manager to join our Detroit Headquarters, working on several high-profile urban land development projects that are contributing to the revitalization of the City of Detroit. This role offers the chance to lead teams and directly shape the built environment.

You will work independently on various engineering projects and assist a wide variety of client types, including architects, developers, property owners, real estate professionals, lawyers, and municipalities. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with managers of other disciplines, overseeing staff workload, and managing project schedules and monthly invoices.

You will work directly with clients, leading the team toward the successful completion of each project. In-person collaboration and mentoring are paramount to success, though with experience and supervisor approval, you could earn a hybrid schedule of up to two days remote per week.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent amount of applicable experience
  • At least 6 years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience in AutoCAD software
  • PE licensure in Michigan (or seeking to obtain) preferred
  • Experience in Civil3D preferred
  • Experience with green infrastructure design and stormwater modeling in SWMM preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil engineering services successfully on high-profile urban land development projects
  • Coordinate with managers of other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Facilitate and manage the overall civil engineering services of a project
  • Perform QA/QC reviews to maintain design quality and standards
  • Lead staff and oversee their workload to meet project milestones
  • Coordinate design with other departments while maintaining the client relationship
  • Manage project schedules and prepare monthly invoices
  • Ensure all aspects of projects are properly completed and profitable
