About this role
APTIM Federal Services, LLC seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead field execution on a high-profile, technically demanding project. This role demands in-depth experience in pipeline construction, utility avoidance, trenching, backfilling, asphalt and concrete placement, plus public relations and strong leadership. The manager coordinates complex work compliant with APTIM standards, federal requirements, and oversight from Navy, USACE, EPA, municipalities, and state authorities.
The Construction Manager acts as on-site lead for daily field operations, overseeing planning, supervision, safety, schedule adherence, cost control, subcontractor management, and quality standards. Monitors craft performance against budget, schedules, and deadlines while implementing work rules. Prepares and reviews plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to coordinate work phases and priorities.
Leads daily construction field crew meetings and collaborates with residential and commercial businesses for updates during work in those areas. Provides daily coordination with project teams, government representatives, and stakeholders. Recommends solutions to construction, engineering, and architectural discrepancies as needed.
Establishes project safety and quality programs, protects the company through risk management, and ensures financial and cash goals are met. Supervises project personnel, develops review materials and forecasting, and represents the project to clients. Manages scope changes, field work within budget, and subcontractor/vendor relations including submittals.
Requirements
- In-depth experience in pipeline construction, utility avoidance, trenching, backfilling, asphalt and concrete placement
- Strong leadership skills to coordinate complex work
- Knowledge of compliance with APTIM standards, federal requirements, and regulatory oversight from Navy, USACE, EPA, municipalities, and state authorities
- Ability to implement and enforce work rules
- Experience in public relations with residential and commercial businesses
- Proficiency in managing subcontractors and vendors
- Understanding of project metrics, production rates, productivity, and daily burn rates
- Skills in risk management and scope change identification
