We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Carpenter/Joiner in HMYOI Lincoln. At Amey, we support His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service by providing safe, clean, and efficient prisons. The role plays an important part in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work is carried out safely, compliantly, and timely.

Carry out joinery work to include repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and other bespoke timber items. Responsible for joinery workshop maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness. Organise and plan daily work with the supervisor, recording details on relevant works orders.

The standard hours are 39 per week across 7 days with a weekend shift pattern covering 1 in 3 weekends and an additional 15% allowance. Work in secure premises across England and Wales using facilities management expertise. Support both local and business zero carbon programmes strategically.

Requirements

Level 2 or 3 in Joinery & Carpentry
Manual tool handling
Ladder use
Prison Security Clearance (Amey will support through process)
Ability to work weekends on rota basis

Responsibilities

Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract
Carry out joinery work repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork, and bespoke timber items
Maintain joinery workshop including machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping, and cleanliness
Organise and plan daily work with supervisor and submit details on works orders
Measure and quote for works
Order materials
Maintain stock of Building Maintenance material
Support zero carbon programmes in a strategic and lean manner
