About this role

Join the thriving and dynamic United Living Infrastructure Services team as a CDM Co-Ordinator. Support our imminent appointment as Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 for an ongoing 9-year design and build water network infrastructure framework contract. This role offers a long-term career opportunity with a Main Contractor.

Ensure compliance with Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM, managing coordination of clients, designers, and contractors. Inform and assist clients in discharging duties at each process stage. Establish and maintain records of health and safety principles from feasibility studies, including design risk assessments.

Carry out design reviews with team members and coordinate health and safety matters. Ensure designers establish safe methods for complex water network designs, available in pre-construction information. Maintain detailed records of design meetings and manage document control effectively.

Requirements

  • Background in Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in design risk assessment
  • Understanding of Principal Designer duties under CDM
  • Familiarity with water network infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the responsibilities of the Principal Designer under CDM
  • Manage the effective coordination of all parties under CDM including clients, designers and contractors
  • Inform and assist clients in discharging their duties at each stage of the process
  • Establish and maintain a record of principles and decisions taken in relation to health and safety in feasibility studies, including design risk assessment
  • Carry out design reviews with team members and co-ordinate health and safety matters
  • Ensure designers have established safe methods for construction of unusual or complex water network designs and make this available as part of the pre-construction information
  • Ensure detailed records of design meetings and decisions are maintained
  • Prepare and submit project specific Health and Safety Files on completion
