Michael Baker seeks a Bridge Construction Manager to lead field execution for complex bridge projects. This role manages all phases of construction, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance. Close coordination occurs with owners, contractors, and agency stakeholders.

Oversee contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and cost controls daily. Monitor progress, review schedules, resolve field issues and constructability challenges. Manage change orders, claims, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications while ensuring safety and quality adherence.

Coordinate with owners, designers, inspectors, contractors, and agency representatives. Prepare and present status reports to clients and senior leadership. Support public outreach and stakeholder coordination as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 15+ years of experience in bridge construction
  • Extensive experience managing bridge construction projects on active roadways
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and contractor performance
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction management activities for bridge projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Oversee contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and cost controls
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable regulations
  • Coordinate with owners, designers, inspectors, contractors, and agency representatives
  • Monitor construction progress, review schedules, and resolve field issues and constructability challenges
  • Manage change orders, claims, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality control/quality assurance procedures
  • Prepare and present status reports to clients and senior leadership
