About this role

Severn Trent is undertaking a £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands, improving water quality and reducing leaks. As Network Construction Manager (West Region), you will be accountable for planning and successful completion of specific Mains Renewal activity. This role plays a key part in a decade's biggest water infrastructure investment.

You will oversee smaller-scale customer hotspot activities, geographically spread and often high-profile. Step in for the Network Construction Business Leader during absences, managing programs of work. Engage with stakeholders including Design, Programme, and Assurance teams to deliver the regional AMP programme.

Work closely with Construction Managers and their teams, supervising Business Leader’s teams without direct people management. Oversee up to 150 people including Network Construction Managers, Logistics Managers, Supervisors, and Reinstatement Managers. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, health and safety, and external CDM Rules.

This fast-paced role demands strong leadership to direct customer hotspot strategy and implement AMP8 Mains Relay strategy. Act as Principal Contractor under CDM Rules. Join a team of over 10,000 thriving in a unique culture delivering life's essentials.

Requirements

  • Full driving license
  • Exceptional understanding of CDM Regulations with ability to demonstrate in practice
  • Proven track record of successfully managing, motivating, and leading a large technical team
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Experience overseeing mains renewal and customer hotspot activities in water infrastructure
  • Knowledge of AMP8 Mains Relay strategy and regional programme delivery
  • Strong leadership skills for fast-paced construction environments

Responsibilities

  • Oversee smaller scale Mains Renewal activities ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and health and safety standards
  • Set and direct the strategy for customer hotspot activities within the region
  • Collaborate with Network Construction teams to implement the AMP8 Mains Relay strategy
  • Work closely with Design, Programme, and Assurance Business Leaders to deliver the regional programme
  • Ensure compliance with external CDM Rules including Health and Safety
  • Act as the appointed Principal Contractor under CDM Rules and deputize for the Network Construction Business Leader
  • Supervise teams and oversee up to 150 people during Business Leader absences
