About this role

Cardo Group is a leading provider of building maintenance and improvement services to social housing providers across the UK. We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to join our team in Caerphilly. The role involves constructing and repairing walls, buildings, chimneys, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and materials.

You will measure and mark surfaces, mix mortar and spread it onto surfaces, lay bricks in rows, patterns, or designs. Responsibilities include cutting bricks to fit around windows and doors, using hand and power tools to shape materials, repairing existing structures, and following safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and materials
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy materials
  • Attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Measure and mark surfaces to be covered with bricks or other materials
  • Mix mortar and spread it onto surfaces to be covered
  • Lay bricks or other materials in rows, patterns, or designs
  • Cut or trim bricks and other materials to fit around windows, doors, and other openings
  • Use hand and power tools to cut and shape bricks and other materials
  • Repair and maintain existing brick structures
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times
