About this role

Refreshingly understated, contemporary and simple, AVANI hotels and resorts provide relaxed and inspired comfort for family breaks or romantic escapes. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for completing all activities on the preventive maintenance schedule as specified in hotel plans. Your role focuses on maintaining wooden structures throughout the hotel.

Perform repairs and maintenance on wooden structures, fixtures, fittings, and carpentry elements. Inspect and assess damage to determine appropriate repair requirements. Clean all work areas thoroughly after finishing tasks.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from Hotel management. Collaborate effectively with other members of the Engineering Department on maintenance projects. Look after all tools and equipment supplied by the Hotel professionally.

Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent. Actively participate in the Hotel's energy conservation programmes and suggest cost-saving ideas. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations in carpentry work.

Requirements

  • Appropriate documented training from a technical/vocational institute
  • One year operating experience in a hotel engineering department
  • Good civil or carpentry knowledge
  • Full grade twelve school certificate
  • ZAQUA Certified document
  • Three traceable referees with their mobile numbers and emails

Responsibilities
