RAM Consulting is a Canadian project delivery firm supporting complex infrastructure projects across marine, transportation, utilities, and energy sectors. The firm is seeking a Construction Manager, Electrical Utility Projects to support large utility infrastructure delivery across British Columbia.
The Construction Manager will lead construction activities for electrical utility projects and programs. Responsibilities include managing materials, budgets, labour, contractors, and resources while ensuring safe execution through site observations and safety standards knowledge.
The role involves close collaboration with project teams, clients, contractors, stakeholders, and First Nations communities. The manager acts as a subject matter expert on construction issues and supports public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
RAM provides opportunities to work on major North American infrastructure projects. Team members bring experience from owner, contractor, and consulting environments to deliver practical solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7+ years of construction management experience on utility, infrastructure, or electrical utility projects
- Experience supporting BC Hydro projects, standards, processes, or project environments strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of project management and contract management
- Excellent knowledge of safety standards and regulations including WorkSafeBC and Occupational Safety requirements
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage complex construction issues in a calm, professional, and solutions-focused way
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Responsibilities
- Lead construction delivery for large, complex electrical utility projects and programs
- Manage materials, budgets, labour, contractors, and project resources
- Support safe execution of work through site observations, safety feedback, and knowledge of safety standards
- Identify and manage project risks including safety, environmental, reputational, stakeholder, and Indigenous Relations considerations
- Support public consultation and stakeholder engagement related to construction activities
- Support claims management, contract administration, and cross-functional project coordination
- Respond to internal, third-party, and stakeholder inquiries in a professional and collaborative manner
