About this role
The Maintenance Construction Manager manages facilities maintenance repair and replacement along with construction projects primarily utilizing contracted construction providers but also limited in-house trades and professionals. Work covers multi-trade needs including mechanical electrical plumbing and architectural specialties across all campuses.
Planned non-emergency projects receive day-to-day supervision with primary responsibility and accountability for recurring work at Fairfax SciTech and Mason Square. The role oversees consultants vendors and contractors while coordinating with in-house assets and building occupants from project initiation through completion.
George Mason University Facilities ensures a quality physical environment supporting the university mission. The department serves as technical and business experts trusted by students faculty and staff on the 677-acre wooded Fairfax campus and additional locations.

Requirements
- Experience managing multi-trade construction and maintenance projects involving mechanical electrical and plumbing systems
- Ability to supervise consultants vendors and contractors while coordinating with in-house teams and building occupants
- Demonstrated responsibility for projects from initiation through completion
- Knowledge of facilities operations supporting institutional or campus environments

- Maintains accountability for project scope and outcomes across Fairfax SciTech and Mason Square campuses
