We seek an experienced Estimator / Preconstruction Manager with 5+ years of estimating experience to strengthen preconstruction efforts on commercial plumbing projects. You'll build accurate, well-structured estimates and play a larger role in project selection, planning, and execution. This hands-on role offers visibility across the business and direct impact on project success.

You'll work closely with operations, project management, and leadership to align pursuits with capabilities and ensure strong financial outcomes. Collaborate on labor planning, RFIs, change orders, and jobsite reviews to validate scopes. Help estimates reflect real-world execution and field conditions.

Success involves delivering consistent estimates that support field execution, building a steady backlog, and improving accuracy over time. Become a trusted partner to project managers and leadership. Track bid outcomes and refine workflows for ongoing improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of plumbing estimating experience (commercial preferred)
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, construction methods, and project lifecycle
  • Ability to build accurate estimates while keeping execution and field realities in mind
  • Experience collaborating with operations, project management, and vendors
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam (required); Simpro or similar systems a plus
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate incoming ITBs to determine bid opportunities
  • Prepare detailed plumbing estimates from engineered plans and specifications
  • Develop scopes, pricing, and bid packages that support efficient project execution
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on labor planning and project approach
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Utilize Bluebeam and Simpro to develop and track estimates
  • Analyze estimated vs. actual performance to improve accuracy over time
  • Build and maintain relationships with general contractors and vendors
