About this role

DAWSON's East Construction Division is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Traveling Construction Superintendent, SSHO, and QCM professional to support Federal Construction Contracts east of the Mississippi River. This position ensures all construction activities meet the highest quality standards and comply with applicable regulations and codes. The applicant may perform one, two, or all three duties based on contract requirements.

Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to identify and address deficiencies in practices, materials, and workmanship. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and maintain quality control plans.

Oversee corrective action plans for non-conformities and monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to quality standards. Manage and conduct weekly QC meetings with the client and daily safety meetings with subcontractors. Review subcontractor Activity Hazard Analyses prior to starting definable features of work.

Conduct root cause analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and enhance project quality and efficiency. Coordinate training programs on quality control procedures and best practices. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and regulations related to construction quality management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct quality control and/or management or post-secondary education
  • Seven years of direct Federal DoD construction processes
  • Strong background in construction management, quality control, and process improvement
  • Proficient in the use of NAVFAC eCMS and USACE RMS for reporting
  • Working knowledge of Procore Project

Responsibilities

  • Ensure work onsite is completed in a safety, quality, and productive manner
  • Maintain and implement the 3 Phases of Quality Control per USACE QCM Requirements
  • Ensure strict adherence to the USACE EM385-1-1 Safety Standards
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and processes for construction projects
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to identify and address potential deficiencies
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop quality control plans
  • Manage and conduct weekly QC Meetings with the client during the construction contract
  • Review subcontractor Activity Hazard Analysis prior to starting a definable feature of work
