As a Site Safety Officer on a USACE project, you will enhance performance by minimizing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role prioritizes productivity and growth through integrated safety support.

Be on-site during all work activities to monitor daily weather, maintain safety materials, and conduct site walks. Implement corrective actions, track deficiencies, provide safety logs, and attend pre-construction and safety meetings. Deliver weekly safety toolbox meetings while updating site-specific safety plans.

Requirements

  • 5 years of recent construction safety oversight experience with no major gaps in employment
  • USACE project and dredge experience highly preferred
  • OSHA 30 Construction Wallet Card issued within the last 5 years
  • First Aid CPR, AED required
  • 8 hours of proven safety education every year for 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025
  • EM 385-1-1 helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Be on-site during all work activities
  • Monitor daily weather and maintain safety materials
  • Conduct site walks and implement corrective actions
  • Track deficiencies, provide safety logs, and attend pre-construction and safety meetings
  • Deliver weekly safety toolbox meetings
  • Update site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with safety and health requirements
  • Conduct safety inspections, maintain records, and provide safety orientation and training
  • Manage PPE inventory, ensure effective dust suppression, investigate mishaps, and optimize care for injured employees
