About this role

This field position is responsible and accountable for direct on-site oversight and execution of contractor construction, maintenance and restoration activities. Work on active construction projects with transmission and wireless vendors to ensure adherence to construction standards, work methods, procedures and safe work practices. Position requires minimal overnight travel, usually less than 5 nights per year, with a typical Monday-Friday schedule.

Serve as a point of contact for PeakNet contractors’ utilization, focusing on improving overall job costs, quality and timeliness through work planning, job execution, inspection process, audits, crew productivity and site management. Manage dependencies like tree trimming, right of ways and locates, along with job design review, required material, time and equipment. Expect extensive drive time and active observation on construction sites.

Traverse multiple terrains including gravel, marsh and uneven surfaces in various weather conditions such as high and low temperatures or rain. Occasionally lift items 25+ lbs for site maintenance. Collaborate with local company and contractor management, peers and peer organizations to meet customer commitment dates and support customer satisfaction efforts.

Requirements

  • Understanding of safe work practices and adherence to construction standards
  • Ability to traverse multiple terrains (gravel, marsh, uneven surfaces) in various weather conditions
  • Capability to lift items 25+ lbs for site maintenance
  • Knowledge of transmission and wireless vendor construction projects
  • Experience with work planning, job execution, inspection, audits and crew productivity
  • Familiarity with site and dependency management (tree trimming, right of ways, locates)
  • Proficiency in job design review, material, time and equipment management

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of Customer Delivery work plan in accordance with the Distribution Construction & Maintenance Scope & Method of Payment while maintaining financial stewardship
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of contractor resources to meet the work plan
  • Validate that contractors are performing job readiness checks by working with contractor field leadership and crews
  • Document any anomalies in the work plan and actively manage resolutions while communicating with stakeholders
  • Monitor progress of work orders assigned to resources
  • Approve special equipment using the current CD process (crane, pressure digger, etc.)
  • Perform productivity and quality assessments, job reviews and validate work order field statuses
  • Conduct and assist in the investigation and resolution of elevated complaints associated with contractors
