About this role

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our growing team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on delivering a wide range of bricklaying works, along with minor roofing repairs, within occupied social housing properties.

With a consistent pipeline of work and a strong commitment to raising housing standards, this role offers a chance to make a real impact in the local community. The position demands someone who takes pride in their workmanship, works efficiently, and delivers high-quality results first time.

Daily tasks involve building new brick walls, restoring damaged brickwork, and carrying out minor roofing repairs like replacing slipped tiles. You'll coordinate with other trades, maintain tools, and ensure safe practices while working in occupied properties.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bricklaying and confidence in carrying out all listed duties
  • Flexibility to support minor roofing repair works when required
  • Previous experience working within social housing environments
  • Strong customer service skills, with a professional and respectful approach when working in occupied properties
  • Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

  • Build new brick walls
  • Restore damaged or deteriorated brickwork
  • Identify and repair cracks or fractures in walls to prevent further damage
  • Render full walls
  • Mix and apply mortar or adhesives to bind bricks and blocks
  • Cut bricks or blocks to size using hand or power tools
  • Repoint brickwork to improve appearance and structural integrity
  • Complete minor roofing repairs, including replacing damaged tiles and making roofs safe
