About this role

Join Rydon Maintenance as an experienced Maintenance/Repairs Bricklayer with skills in other trades on our Canning Town housing repairs team. Work in a mobile role carrying out internal and external upgrades, maintenance, responsive repairs and void works in residential properties. Rydon delivers responsive repairs for social housing across the UK.

Deliver high-quality bricklaying, some plastering and other works across maintenance, repair and voids projects in residential houses on a local housing association contract. Handle brick/blockwork for repairs, pointing and remedial works. Mix, prepare, and apply plaster, render, and finish coats to ceilings and walls.

Undertake additional maintenance like repairs to floor/wall tiling, mould treating for damp, and internal/external painting. Use a company van with fuel card for travel and a PDA to accept jobs, plan schedules, and sign off works. Work 8.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the social housing environment preferred
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in relevant trade
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Skills in bricklaying, pointing, and remedial works
  • Experience in plastering, rendering, and multi-trade maintenance
  • Ability to communicate confidently with residents

Responsibilities

  • Carry out brick/blockwork for repairs, pointing and remedial works
  • Mix, prepare, and apply plaster, render, and finish coats to ceilings and walls
  • Undertake repairs to floor and/or wall tiling
  • Perform mould treating to rectify damp
  • Carry out internal/external painting
  • Use PDA to accept jobs, plan schedules, and sign off completed works
  • Travel to sites using company van and fuel card
