M&J seeks a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Site Safety Officer to oversee safety on active job sites.

The Site Safety Officer enforces OSHA regulations, company policies, and local laws to maintain safe environments for employees, subcontractors, and visitors. Daily duties include conducting site inspections, hazard assessments, and leading safety orientations and toolbox talks. Unsafe conditions prompt immediate corrective actions and work stoppages when necessary.

Coordinate closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors on safety matters. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses while maintaining detailed logs and reports. Ensure proper PPE use and compliance with all safety requirements across sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site safety or related field
  • OSHA 30 required (OSHA 62 preferred, if applicable)
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, fall protection, scaffolding, and hazard mitigation
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to enforce safety policies firmly and professionally
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all site safety rules, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard assessments
  • Identify unsafe conditions or behaviors and take corrective action immediately
  • Lead site safety orientations and toolbox talks
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommendations
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment
  • Maintain safety logs, inspection records, and incident reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors on safety matters
