About this role

Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Journeyman responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for installation of formwork, finish carpentry and drywall. This role demands precision in construction tasks across diverse projects. Expertise ensures high-quality builds in sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare markets.

Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions accurately. Perform concrete and rough carpentry including hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns, and drywall. Set door frames, hang doors, and install hardware with attention to detail.

Complete finish carpentry tasks such as toilet accessories, handrails, corner guards, partitions, lockers, cabinets, countertops, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, and running trim. Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. Demonstrate strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, and effective communication through active listening.

Operate equipment like table saws, radial arm saws, belt and disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection, rigging, and form systems. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of apprenticeship program
  • Union specific training
  • Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, read plans, and operate equipment including table saws, radial arm saws, belt and disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems
  • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs (over 50 lbs with assistance of another team member or equipment)
