About this role
Audubon is currently seeking a Carpenter/Concrete Finisher I to join our team in our Offsite Office. This role performs skilled carpentry work involved in construction, maintenance, and repair. It ensures facilities maintain a safe and efficient condition while performing related work as required.
Day-to-day tasks include physical labor on construction projects such as layout, interior framing, cold form metal framing, gypsum board installation, rebar installation, door, frame, and hardware installation. Additional duties cover acoustical ceiling installation, millwork installation, and other assigned tasks. Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, survey principles, and foundation forms layout is essential.
Safe use of power tools like saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers, and grinders is required. Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete jobs effectively. All work aligns with construction safety practices.
Support Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by performing duties that protect health and safety, participating in training, and reporting hazards. Follow safe work practices and comply with regulatory requirements. Contribute to a team environment focused on civil construction quality assurance.
Requirements
- Five years' experience in the construction industry
- Five years' experience as a craft carpenter
- Proven experience as civil construction carpenter
- Related trade school education is preferred
- Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines
- Knowledge of civil construction and quality assurance practices and procedures
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing with valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Perform layout, interior framing, cold form metal framing, and gypsum board installation on construction projects
- Install rebar, doors, frames, hardware, acoustical ceilings, and millwork
- Safely use power tools such as saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers, and grinders
- Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Apply knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings and structures
- Utilize knowledge of survey principles and layout of foundations forms and building framing
- Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
