As Construction Manager, primary obligations include managing construction activities such as contract administration, change orders, payment processing, and field reviews for compliance with design and regulations. Coordinate with contractors, regulatory representatives, and third-party utilities. Internally, liaise with Project Managers, Designers, and inspectors on various projects.

Day-to-day involves reviewing construction documents for constructability, shop drawings for accuracy, and conducting on-site observations to resolve issues. Assist with cost estimates, tender packages, schedules, and contract management including change orders and payments. Maintain communication on project status, quality, and site issues while preparing reports and meeting minutes.

Develop positive relations with Municipalities, Clients, and Contractors. Ensure project completion per contract documents and regulatory requirements, preparing completion certificates. Thrive in a multi-disciplinary team nurturing professional development for rewarding careers.

Requirements

  • Experience managing construction contract administration including change orders and payments
  • Knowledge of construction standards, regulations, and compliance in civil projects
  • Proficiency reviewing engineering drawings, shop drawings, and providing constructability feedback
  • Familiarity with tender packages, cost estimates, and construction schedules
  • Ability to conduct field reviews and on-site observations in building trades
  • Skills in coordinating with contractors, utilities, and regulatory agencies
  • Competence preparing reports, meeting minutes, and completion certificates
  • Understanding of municipal submission processes for civil engineering projects

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, Inspectors, and other team members
  • Assist the Project Team with preparation of construction cost estimates
  • Assist PM with preparing and developing tender packages and contract documents
  • Review construction documents including engineering drawings and provide feedback on constructability
  • Review contractor shop drawings, cross-referencing engineering design for accuracy and handle submittals
  • Conduct on-site observations to ensure contractor compliance with documents and standards, resolving issues
  • Manage construction contracts, identify change orders, and process payment requests
  • Prepare Construction Completion Certificates and maintain relations with Municipalities, Clients, and Contractors
