About this role
The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara, a luxury hospitality brand, seeks a skilled Bricklayer / Tiler to connect guests with genuine experiences through exceptional craftsmanship. This role involves interpreting blueprints and specifications to ensure precise layout and project requirements in exciting destinations.
Day-to-day tasks include measuring and arranging bricks or tiles, mixing and leveling mortar, laying materials in various patterns with proper spacing, and cutting pieces to fit obstacles using power saws or hand tools. Workers apply grout, install waterproofing, and clean newly installed surfaces for a polished finish.
Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, and team members while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and adhering to safety regulations. Communicate effectively with clients and supervisors about progress and issues, mentoring apprentices along the way.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in bricklaying or tiling
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bricklayer or tiler
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and project requirements
- Measure, mark, and arrange bricks, tiles, or blocks according to design specifications
- Mix, spread, and level mortar or cement on work surfaces
- Lay and align bricks, tiles, or blocks in various patterns, ensuring proper spacing and leveling
- Cut or trim bricks, tiles, or blocks to fit around obstacles or into tight spaces using power saws or hand tools
- Apply and smooth grout between tiles, bricks, or blocks
- Repair and maintain existing brickwork or tiled surfaces
- Coordinate with other construction professionals to ensure proper installation around fixtures and outlets
