Are you looking to kick-start a career in the construction and housebuilding industry? Join as an Apprentice Assistant Site Manager to earn while you learn, working on live residential sites alongside experienced Site Managers. Study towards a Construction site supervisor level 4 qualification while gaining hands-on experience in site management, health and safety, programme coordination, and stakeholder communication.

This site-based role follows a rota of six weeks on site and one residential week at Cinderford College, with accommodation provided. Site locations may change to meet business needs and support learning. Commit at least 20% of working time to off-the-job learning, completing coursework and passing assessments on time.

You’ll be supported by a Site Manager and wider site team from day one. Assist with day-to-day running of residential building sites, ensuring safe, on-programme delivery to quality standards. Coordinate deliveries, maintain safety procedures, and communicate with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.

The apprenticeship lasts approximately 2 years, with strong progression to Trainee Assistant Site Manager upon completion. Further development leads to Assistant Site Manager and Site Manager roles. Closing date is 24th May 2026, with assessment on 11th June 2026 and start week commencing 3rd September.

Requirements

  • Maths and English – Level 4 (Grade C) or above, equivalent functional skills, or a Level 2 Apprenticeship
  • A full UK driving licence or working towards (Completion by the end of your apprenticeship is essential)
  • A genuine interest in the construction and housebuilding industry
  • Enthusiasm to learn and a strong desire to develop both academically and practically
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable approach
  • Confidence using Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Management team with day-to-day running of a residential building site
  • Help ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to quality standards
  • Maintain health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries and storing materials safely and efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers and members of the public
  • Review site activities, identify issues and suggest practical solutions
  • Ensure all college coursework and assessments are completed on time and to the required standard
