About this role

Dematic’s Modernizations and Upgrades installation team seeks a Site Manager for positions involving 90% travel across North America. This full-time on-site lead coordinates installation and commissioning activities for Material Handling System modernizations. The primary objective ensures adherence to Dematic’s safety, engineering, and installation standards.

Work full-time on the job site from installation start through customer acceptance. Coordinate all on-site activities of Dematic personnel and subcontractors, serving as the primary customer contact. Conduct frequent work reviews and report issues to the Installation Supervisor and Project Manager.

Monitor resource levels, working hours, and commissioning efforts including rate tests and acceptance testing. Maintain detailed testing records and communicate requirements to the team and customer. Manage the system punch list for timely close-out and daily status updates.

Report to the MU Sr. Manager of Installations while assigned to a MU Project Manager. Assist the Installation Supervisor with subcontractor oversight, safety monitoring, and compliance with codes and regulations. Issue consolidated daily site summary reports after team coordination.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of safety, engineering, and installation standards for material handling systems
  • Experience coordinating on-site installation teams and subcontractors
  • Familiarity with commissioning, system integration, and acceptance testing processes
  • Ability to monitor compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety requirements
  • Proficiency in managing punch lists, testing records, and project documentation
  • Skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications for installation oversight
  • Competence in resource planning and scheduling for construction sites

Responsibilities

  • Work full-time on the job site from beginning of installation through Customer acceptance
  • Coordinate all on-site activity of Dematic personnel and subcontractors as directed by the Project Manager
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between on-site activities and the Customer
  • Conduct frequent reviews of on-site work and report problems and schedule issues to the Installation Supervisor and Project Manager
  • Monitor resource levels and requirements and coordinate working hours for Dematic personnel and subcontractors
  • Coordinate commissioning, system integration, and acceptance testing including rate tests and pre-acceptance dry runs
  • Maintain and manage the overall system punch list and communicate status daily
  • Maintain a daily site log and issue consolidated daily summary reports to the Project Manager
